AK House by Leo Romanos
Leo Romanos designed the AK house in the residential area Jardins Munique of the Brazilian city of Goiânia. This house with an area of 5,683 square feet is located on a slope that was perceived as an advantage for placing the house at the maximum possible level, providing a broader view of the nearby forest.

The AK house was completed in 2020 and has approximately 500 m². It is located in a horizontal cottage in the city of Goiânia, state of Goiás. The sloped terrain allowed housing to be placed at the maximum possible level. Thus, the first floor is two meters above street level, providing a broader view for residents towards the front forest.
It is important to note that side and lower buildings surround other visual expansion opportunities. Natural lighting together with the front view defined the development of the house plan. Thus, the pool greets residents and invites them to a social pavilion with a veranda concept. In this case, all rooms are integrated through openings in aluminum frames. Side openings are located at the edge of the setback and occupied by a garden, bringing nature into the house. Maintaining the idea of strengthening the connection between the house and nature, suspended gardens serve as both social spaces and intimate transitions.
On the upper floor are bedrooms and a large TV room. On the street, the front wall with gates works as a repetition of materials on the second floor, combining stone and aluminum blinds. The glass first floor is a contrasting element in the monolith that only reveals itself when we are at the relaxation level with pool, balconies and rooms. The house is hardly visible from the street. This creates a cozy atmosphere within the premises, an exciting spectacle for the eyes.
