Add Texture and Depth to Bedroom Walls with Plaster Molding
Thinking about updating your bedroom decor and adding cozy lighting? Then our tip is plaster molding for the bedroom. A classic home design project, but with new looks and possibilities.
What Are Plaster Moldings?
PinterestAs you might guess, plaster moldings are made from gypsum board sheets that can be standard or faced, also known as drywall. Moldings are installed directly on the ceiling to provide a finishing touch, hide imperfections and even electrical wiring, pipes, and fittings. Besides bedrooms, plaster moldings are still widely used in living rooms, dining rooms, and hallways. There are various types of moldings (which we will discuss later), and all can be used in bedrooms. The difference lies in the finish treatment and final aesthetic appearance.
However, to install plaster moldings, the surrounding area must have a minimum height of 2.50 meters. This is because installing tiles requires about 10–15 centimeters, which reduces ceiling height and may cause a sense of flatness and visual discomfort in already low spaces.
What Are the Benefits of Plaster Moldings for Bedrooms?
PinterestThe architecture and design of the room will be appreciated with moldings, as they highlight the overall aesthetic concept of the space. Not to mention that the molding itself is an element that helps enhance the room and property as a whole.
Improves LightingYou can also use plaster moldings to enhance and boost lighting in the room. Plaster allows for installing recessed lights, LED strips, chandeliers, pendant lights, and other lighting elements that contribute to illumination. Simply choose the one best suited for your needs.
