The 60th Pasadena Home Design Showcase marks a significant milestone in one of the country's most prestigious home and garden tours. The event is organized by the Pasadena Home & Garden Show, which runs from April 20 to May 18, 2025, inviting over 30,000 guests to explore exceptional interiors, landscape projects, fashion shopping, and gourmet dining on-site.

Discover Bauer Estate and Gardens – An Architectural Icon

This year's showcase takes place at the historic Bauer Estate and Gardens, a spacious 1928 Monterey Colonial estate in Pasadena. Designed by renowned architect Reginald D. Johnson, and built by Peter Holl, famous for designing the Gamble House, the estate was originally commissioned by Harry Bauer, then General Manager of Southern California Edison, and his wife Alice, Chair of the Los Angeles Arboretum.

Spanning five private acres, the estate features exquisite gardens designed by Kathryn Bashford, one of California's first female landscape designers. From meticulously maintained lawns and media terraces to a pool room and a north-south tennis court, the estate embodies an elegant outdoor lifestyle. In 2012, it was recognized by the City of Pasadena as part of its study on historic designed landscapes and is included in the National Register of Historic Places.

Inside the Show: Design Artistry and Legacy

With more than 15,000 square feet and 18 main rooms, the Bauer Estate serves as an extraordinary canvas for more than 30 interior and landscape designers to highlight cutting-edge trends in high-end living. Visitors will encounter:

  • Staircase living rooms and original fireplace areas

  • Welcoming zones and wood-paneled libraries

  • Historic carved details and wide wood floors

  • Staff quarters, butler's kitchen, and a flower room

This immersive tour not only highlights the future of design but also celebrates nearly a century of architectural heritage.

Timeless Traditions, Modern Style

Since its founding in 1948, the Pasadena Home & Garden Show has raised over $26 million for arts and music programs throughout Southern California. Proceeds from the 60th edition will support four core initiatives:

  • Gifts and Grants

  • Mobile Music Complex™

  • Instrument Competition

  • Youth Concert Series

In 2024, the organization donated $1 million to support the community.
