Soft tones, ethnic textiles and a green parrot — we tell how the designer created an atmosphere of comfort and travel on a small area

This kitchen is part of a thoughtfully planned and very personal interior designed for a young woman in a Stalin-era apartment built in 1953. The project's author, designer Yuri Vorobiev, was inspired by the atmosphere of warm countries, ethnic motifs and even the owner's green dwarf parakeet.

As a result, a cozy kitchen was created that harmoniously combines with the rest of the apartment and supports its soft, romantic vibe.

The apartment underwent a reconfiguration, but the main areas remained in their original places. The kitchen was merged with the living room to create a unified, bright space. Thanks to this decision, it became possible to place a full kitchen unit and make the dining area more open. Additionally, a niche was created in the corner of the kitchen where the gas meter is now hidden and groceries are stored.

The kitchen unit was custom-made and built according to the 'G' shape principle. The lower fronts are in a soft olive tone, and the upper part has a warm wood texture. Particularly striking is the glass module with backlighting: it adds depth and makes the composition lighter.

The countertop with wood imitation and a white voluminous apron with a pattern create the feeling of southern ceramics. The snow-white range hood and built-in appliances maintain a neat and fresh look.

In the dining area — a round table made of dark wood and cozy chairs with soft upholstery. The wall is decorated with mirrors in decorative frames, and a compact pendant light hangs above the table. Flowers in a vase and table setting add homey warmth.

The kitchen turned out not just functional — it seems to continue the mood of the painting in the living room, inspired by the image of the owner. Here, a feeling of warmth and a measured southern morning prevails. Everything — from tones and textures to details like the relief apron and textiles — works toward a unified vision. This is how an interior where you want to live is created.
