Before and After: How to Stylishly and Budget-Friendly Transform a Hallway in a Khrushchyovka
Beautiful interior with many great ideas
Designer Galina Ovchinnikova transformed a 'killed' 2-room apartment in a khrushchyovka into a cozy space for a couple without children. The main task was to develop a convenient and ergonomic layout, as well as arrange a neutral but bright and memorable interior. At the same time, it was important to stay within a small budget. We show how the hallway changed in this project.

The hallway in this 2-room apartment definitely needed a major renovation. Torn wallpaper, scraped floors and cramped space made the entrance to the apartment unattractive and inconvenient.

The new interior is a complete contrast to the previous one. The hallway turned out bright and very stylish. For wall finishing, they chose a deep blue paint color that instantly creates an impressive visual accent. The floor is made of moisture-resistant laminate with a warm wood texture.

Despite its compact size, it was possible to fit everything necessary in the hallway without sacrificing functionality. There was space for all essential elements, including a hanging console for storing small items, convenient hooks for clothes and a soft pouf.
Pay attention to the video:At the entrance door is a floor mirror. Mirrored surfaces are a traditional technique for small spaces. They visually make the entrance area feel more airy and spacious. Storage is organized further, in the passage zone — a cabinet located closer to the hallway is for outerwear.

As a result, the hallway turned out bright and functional, making it not only a stylish beginning of the apartment but also a convenient space for everyday life. Effective use of color and compact storage add comfort and aesthetic pleasure, while thoughtful design ensures maximum comfort.
