Now it's hard to believe that it once looked so bad

At first glance, it may seem like this is not a studio in a Khrushchyovka but rather a small room in a hotel. All thanks to the harmonious design by Daria Nazarenko, who managed to create a cozy and budget-friendly interior with bold accents.

We tell how we fitted a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and living area into 28 square meters.

The small Moscow apartment near Aeroport metro station originally had a long, narrow shape along the facade. This allowed combining the kitchen with the living room and placing them in the most well-lit area.

During the renovation, the wall between the bedroom and kitchen was removed, and the hallway was separated by a partition. The corridor was used to enlarge the bathroom, where a cabinet and washing machine were installed.

The walls were painted with washable paint, and parquet made of colored planks was laid on the floor. The hallway and bathroom were decorated with ceramic granite mimicking marble from a budget manufacturer Kerama Marazzi.

Walls made of glass blocks reflect light well and create soft natural lighting, reducing electricity costs.

White and graphite shades accentuate the geometry of the space and provide opportunities to use contrasting tones in decoration. For example, an orange kitchen apron pairs perfectly with an emerald sofa.

The majority of items are stored in a wardrobe, while the rest can be placed in a bedroom-transformer closet with many shelves for various interior items and clothing.

Most of the furniture is built-in, so the apartment feels very spacious. Cabinets, kitchen units, a console table, and a side table were purchased at IKEA, which helped stay within the limited budget.

The highlight of the apartment is a built-in modular transformer from domestic brand Olissys. During the day it serves as a sofa + storage system, and at night as a double bed. For small studios, such a solution is rightly considered optimal.
