Laundry machine, ironing board, and dryer — the main "little things" that break the ergonomics of an apartment. We've shared where to find space for all of them so it finally becomes convenient

In the niche between rooms
Perhaps the most unconventional solution you've ever seen is installing a washing machine in a wall between the kitchen and bathroom. The owner of an apartment couldn't find space for a washing machine in the bathroom, so they had to quickly come up with a solution. Thus, the machine was installed in a niche between two rooms and hidden behind unobtrusive facades on both sides.

Another bold solution is placing a washing machine in the wardrobe. Besides everything else, this space holds many life hacks. One of them is a wall-mounted dryer hidden behind a facade. To make clothes dry faster, the apartment owners consciously did not make the facade solid. Therefore, they provided round holes, which are also handles, for easy grip and opening the cabinet.

The washing machine and dryer in a separate utility room is the most convenient option from a practical standpoint. According to the project, two bathrooms were planned in the apartment, but the owners decided to abandon one in favor of a laundry room.

Among practical solutions is a separate area designated for pet litter boxes and a vertical drying cabinet. By the way, the sections of the cabinet were measured based on personal needs. For example, the shelf above the washing machine was measured to fit a favorite litter box. This way, there's no need to think about where to hide it further away. A great example of ergonomics that starts with you.

A complex but feasible solution is installing a washing machine in the hallway. It was hidden behind roller shutters. This is an important detail to ensure heat, which is emitted during machine operation, is vented out and the appliance doesn't overheat. For safety, drainage outlets were provided for leak sensors: if the machine leaks, everything shuts down instantly.

Among simple and universal solutions is hiding the washing machine in a niche in the bathroom and covering it with a facade. Additional convenience can be added by installing a towel warmer above the machine, and attaching a dryer there as well. Then, household items won't draw attention.
