Wall socket with a doorbell, large mirrors, and lighting under the baseboard

Today we'll share some interesting ideas that we noticed while visiting designer Oxana Nechaeva. While renovating her apartment in a historic house nearly 100 years old, she had to redo almost everything, including floor slabs and walls. Let's see what design tricks the designer used to create her own entrance hall interior.

1. Vertical Shoe Cabinet

A very practical solution at the entrance of an apartment is a shoe cabinet. In Oxana's entrance hall, there are two of them. The first one is for everyday shoes that are immediately put away when entering the apartment. Oxana made it tall and narrow, with a shelf for each pair of shoes. The purpose is to avoid stepping on shoes throughout the corridor to reach the main storage area.

The newly created niche is very convenient for storing keys, a shoe spoon, and other small items, while the upper cabinet compartment is for receipts.

2. Large Mirrors

To expand the space, Oxana used large mirrors in the entrance hall. They did an excellent job with this task. The room looks bright and spacious.

3. Hidden Electrical Outlet

Oxana tried to incorporate every architectural feature of the old house into her interior. For example, a large concrete beam was painted to match the wall color and hidden inside a built-in cabinet. This is the main storage area for all clothing and shoes in the entrance hall. Additionally, she hid an electrical outlet here to keep it from disrupting the overall interior style.

4. Baseboard with Lighting

For a narrow and long corridor, floor lighting is an excellent solution. For even lighting, Oxana used a special baseboard into which LED strips are installed.

5. Modern Doorbell

An interesting solution was a doorbell in the apartment. It is plugged into an outlet at the end of the corridor, which reduced the need for wires and outlets. The button is located outside near the door. The doorbell itself has a modern design and plays a pleasant melody.
