How the most comfortable garage we have seen looks like

In our country, nobody is surprised by an apartment purchased on mortgage. But self-isolation and loss of income among some Russians were clearly unexpected. However, there is no need to despair or give up due to the impossibility of paying a large sum monthly. Take inspiration from creative people.

For example, artist Michelle de la Vega found herself in a tough situation. To make it possible to pay the mortgage, she rented out her house and moved in to live in a garage. Before that, Michelle, of course, arranged her new tiny home of 23 square meters.

Before renovation six years ago, the old unattractive garage didn't look like a cozy functional cottage at all.

The garage was covered and well protected from weather. The girl only added a wing with a bathroom, otherwise it remained the same size.

To save money, Michelle did everything herself. She not only planned the layout but also made part of the furniture by hand. Her skill with a welding machine was very helpful.

There is only one window in the house and large panoramic doors, which Michelle keeps almost always open. During renovation, the girl slightly increased the height of the garage, so a small mezzanine appeared, which serves as a bedroom. To get upstairs, Michelle installed an old ladder from a Pacific liner, which she already had.

Inside the cottage, Michelle didn't build any walls but just slightly zoned the space. Along one wall, there was a kitchen; along the other — a living area with a beautiful fireplace. The sofa was made by Michelle herself, it also serves as guest bed. As a cover, she used an old army blanket. As is already noticeable, Michelle loves old things and easily finds a use for them.

The back of the fireplace in the living room is made from old bricks left over after dismantling an old chimney.
