See how designers combined modern interior and 'grandfather's' furniture
If you're planning a renovation or moving to a new apartment, don't rush to throw away old furniture. Grandma's chest of drawers and grandpa's armchair can fit perfectly into a modern interior. Check out our selection of projects with vintage furniture for inspiration.
Stylish apartment with bold furniture
To save on budget, some furniture was moved from the old apartment and repainted with pastel paints. This process turned out to be so engaging that vintage furniture started to be sought after specifically. For example, the radio in the living room came from grandpa, and the armchair was found in a demolished house in Tula.

The designer managed to incorporate the existing IKEA kitchen and part of the furniture into the new interior. To increase functionality of the kitchen cabinet, a sideboard was added and a washing machine was built-in. The project author also added lighting fixtures and decor with contrasting black details.

Designers created a functional layout for a creative family. Grandpa's bookcase found new life and fit perfectly into the bedroom interior. The restored round table was placed in the dining area, becoming a cozy and warm focal point. It connected the kitchen and living room spaces, creating a comfortable and intimate atmosphere.

The project was designed to keep some of the existing furniture and decor and incorporate them into the interior. From the previous life, a wardrobe and secretary remained in one of the bedrooms, a sideboard, chest of drawers, console, mirror, piano and bookshelves in the living room.

This interior features many great details that create a homey ambiance. For example, a massive cabinet is part of the entrance hall and is 100 years old. An antique restored mirror serves as a bedside table in the bedroom. The highlight of the interior is old timber beams from Arkhangelsk region, which decorate doorways and walls.
