How to add a unique touch to your interior and make it memorable

We reviewed projects from our designers and found several cool tips that helped make interiors practical and original while staying within a modest budget.

1Designer Ksenia Eralkova painted the entrance door in a bright mustard color. Against a monochrome interior — the client asked to use white and graphite colors — such a splash stands out. Photo: in style , – photo on our website2

Elena Trukhanova used plywood for kitchen cabinets. She built a partition between rooms from glass blocks. This approach keeps the space bright and airy.

Using different light fixtures — a pendant over one cabinet and a table lamp on another — helped visually balance the asymmetrical ceiling.Photo: in style , – photo on our website

This is another solution we liked in Tatiana's apartment. The closet door was made from regular plywood panels and glass door guides. The plywood was painted in several layers, with the final layer done in graphite paint. Now the whole family decorates the door with motivational quotes.

Designer Roman Lutsenko came up with a way to protect the actual brick wall on the kitchen backsplash from splashes and grease. He covered it with clear glass. Now the backsplash is easy to clean, and the brick stays clean.

Another trick — the bottom third of the walls were covered with regular boarding. This supports the style of a country house and also protects the walls from dirt and scratches.
