See how Russian designers transformed cramped bathrooms into cozy modern spaces

If you think that a Brezhnev-era apartment can't be comfortable and functional, take a look at our selection of very beautiful modern bathrooms in typical Soviet panel buildings.

Unusual bathroom with bold design

The main feature of the bathroom is an open bathtub: the metal frame was painted black, and the bathtub itself was decorated with black curved lines. The door is made of relief glass, which added a sense of airiness to the entire apartment.

Romantic bathroom in blue tones

The designer expanded the bathroom by using the corridor space. Eight square meters were enough to fit a hidden laundry room and many storage areas. The design concept was based on landscapes of Santorini island with its white houses, blue-rimmed windows, and endless sea horizon.

Combined bathroom with practical finishing

One of the most important elements in the bathroom design was the theme of 'Alice in Wonderland': the designer used exactly this motif on a poster. For wall cladding, they chose 'Gamma' tiles. They were laid in a pattern to avoid walls looking too plain and boring.

Cozy bathroom with vibrant accents

The shower area and half of the wall near the sink were tiled. Above the walls, they painted a complex blue-green shade. As a color accent, they made a cabinet in a saturated blue color. To visually expand the space above the sink, they installed a large mirror reaching to the ceiling.

Light bathroom in English style

For finishing, the designer used complex white 'boar' tiles with facets and crazing. Clean monochromatic white walls contrast with the colorful pattern of the floor rug, whose green color supports the wide trim between the tiles and the ceiling cornice. The main decorative element in the bathroom is a head of a deer imported from London.

Spacious bathroom for travelers

In the design of this bathroom, the designer combined brown, terracotta, orange, denim blue, and dusty blue colors. The theme of travel and sea voyages runs through the interior. The right atmosphere was created thanks to ceramic tiles Macchine Volanti from Ceramica Bardelli.

Stylish bathroom with a light retro touch

The trick in this interior is that the kitchen backsplash and the bathroom wall are made of glass blocks: thus, natural light from the kitchen penetrates into the bathroom.
