Every centimeter is carefully planned on a micro-area in a brezhnev-era apartment

We already told about Natalia, who together with her husband decorated the apartment in light tones with bright accents. They came up with the entire design themselves, and some items were made by hand. They selected a lot of furniture at IKEA and repainted it themselves. The couple transformed their small hallway beyond recognition.

Previously, we shared details about Natalia's wonderful kitchen and a tiny but stylish bathroom. Today, we're sharing the details of creating a cozy interior in a small hallway.

Small but Stylish Hallway

Our hallway is very small — 2.4 m², as all useful area was reserved for the living room. Since there wasn't enough space to fit a full-length mirror here, we decided to buy an entrance door with a mirror — thanks to the genius who came up with that idea.

The entrance to the bathroom was also made from the hallway, so it wasn't accessible from the living room. We added shelves for keys and small items.

My husband made a beautiful shelf in the hallway by hand. It holds all our outerwear, everyday shoes, electrical panel, Wi-Fi router, and there was even space left for the attic.

  • Blinds doors — 4 pcs.
  • Lumber 40×40×3000 mm — 2 pcs.
  • Furniture panel for shelves — 4 pcs.
  • Furniture hinges — 10 pcs.
  • Furniture magnets — 6 pcs.
  • Hanger for clothes — 1 pc.
  • Board for crossbars 3 m — 1 pc.
  • Corner fasteners — 16 pcs. (3 per shelf and 2 for crossbars).
  • Strip with hooks — 1 pc.
  • Furniture handles — 4 pcs.
  • Thin wide rails for door trim, which my husband glued on the outside of the doors with adhesive to make them slightly wider.

We take all the items listed above and mount them to the walls and to each other. I think everything is clear from the photos. The blinds doors of the hallway shelf were painted white.

After the renovation, we had an old wooden stool in a terrible state. I painted it white and used painter's tape to create blue stripes — now it’s quite pleasant to use. In addition, it became a great bright accent in the hallway.
