Architectural Adrenaline: 8 Coolest Transparent Pools
Such swims are remembered for a lifetime
Imagine: It's a hot summer day, the sun is shining, and you're spending time in a pool enjoying a pleasant day. Sounds inviting, doesn't it? Now add just one detail to this picture — the pool is above ground, and thanks to its transparent bottom you can see everything happening below. Modern pools with transparent elements resemble works of art, giving people unforgettable emotions. We're showing eight pools that leave you breathless.
Hotel Hubertus, Italy
A creation by NOA Studio — an unusual 25-meter pool located in the Italian hotel Hubertus. It is built at a height of 12 meters and supported by wooden columns. In shape, the pool resembles a diving board offering an incredible view of the surroundings. The experience is heightened by the glass front wall and transparent bottom section.

The London pool is built on the 10th floor and connects two buildings — it looks like a whimsical bridge. According to the architectural studio HAL, this is the world's first fully transparent pool. The pool is entirely glazed with acrylic panels on all sides, allowing visitors to admire London from any angle. Of course, such an experience is unlikely to appeal to people with a fear of heights, but the project looks very striking.

The unique house in Marbella is a project by the Dutch studio Wiel Arets Architects. The living space was built above the rooftop pool — it seems as if an unexplored underwater world is floating above the heads of residents. The pool with a transparent bottom opens onto a semi-covered terrace: reflections of shimmering water play on the walls, furniture, and floor.

The Anaha complex, designed by the Chicago-based architectural firm Solomon Cordwell Buenz, is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The pool with a transparent bottom sits 23 meters above the ground. A single glance at it is enough to take your breath away: if you look from below, it feels like swimmers are floating above the earth.

Brazilian architect Fernando Márquez designed the unique Panorama apartment around a transparent pool. It is easy to mistake it for an aquarium: such reservoirs are what we usually see in oceanariums. The 10-meter pool is separated from the main living area by thick glass panels: beyond them, like in a fairy tale, swimmers appear.

Architects from the studio Architrend Architecture worked on the concrete house project on Malta. One of the building's features is a glass pool on the roof, located above the lobby. Thanks to its transparent bottom, natural light penetrates the space, and residents can watch swimmers.

The studio Jackson & Ryan Architects gifted the city a new landmark — the Market Square Tower Skyscraper. The highlight of the building is a pool with a transparent bottom that extends beyond one of its walls. The height is truly breathtaking: it is built on the 40th floor. Swimming at 153 meters above the ground is an experience for the bravest.

The pool on the upper floor of the Brazilian Emiliano hotel was designed by the studio Oppenheim Architecture and Arthur Casas. The glass facade allows swimmers to enjoy the view of the famous Copacabana beach. “The rooftop pool with a glass wall provides the sensation of floating in the sky above one of the most beautiful places on earth,” said Oppenheim Architecture.
