See how Swedish designers managed to set up a whole house in the space of a studio and find room for an open terrace

This cottage is located on the outskirts of Stockholm, so here the atmosphere is more rural. Someone might be surprised that they decided to build a whole house on such a modest area, but it's no wonder people say: the Swedes can create comfort under any circumstances.

The layout of this cottage is as simple as possible. On the first floor, upon entering, there's a small living room, followed by a full kitchen with a dining area. The improvised second floor (in reality an attic) is entirely dedicated to the bedroom.

Strangely enough, it feels quite spacious inside. Designers used every possible trick to visually expand the space. For example, they painted the walls white and complemented the interior with cool tones (dark green sofa, grey kitchen cabinet).

Furniture is placed against the walls to keep the central part of the room always free. Thanks to French windows that span an entire wall, it's always bright here.

When decorating the upstairs bedroom, they followed the same principle: the simpler, the better. They limited themselves to just a bed and a couple of bedside tables. When residents move in, they can add storage solutions according to their taste.

We recommend reading the entire post to the end and checking out the main feature of this cottage — the open terrace. This cozy relaxation area makes up for the lack of space in the living room — on nice weather, it's a place to spend all day — hosting family dinners, receiving guests, and even working.
