This small house built in 1955 was inherited by Jet Vitcke from her parents. What started as a dilapidated cottage turned into a luxurious villa: the house sits among cliffs on the eastern coast of Denmark, offering a stunning view of the ocean.

Jet has her own home goods store, so she had a general idea of the kind of atmosphere she wanted to live in. Another important factor was that the house needed enough space for family and friends to gather. Fortunately, all her wishes came true.

In contrast to its dark exterior, the interior of the house is bright and airy. Jet painted the walls and floor white to visually expand the rooms. Color was added through furniture, art pieces, and vintage items.

For example, Jet brought the chairs, carpet, and mirror from her shop. “Generally, I prefer calmer tones, but for a country house, it’s just right,” the girl explains.

The cabinet and granite countertop island were bought at auction. Sometimes you can find great items in the most unexpected places.

Naturally, there was also room for IKEA items – for instance, an IKEA footstool in the living room. By the way, this room opens directly onto the backyard. In summer, the doors are opened wide to keep the house cool.

A small shower was installed in the backyard. It’s always handy when the family returns from the beach. And not just family: many guests come to this house.

They bring water sports gear to go skiing on the water. In the evenings, they gather together in the kitchen or living room. Isn’t that perfect?
