This house stands on the edge of a rocky cliff where only water and green hills surround it. See how the owners, using three materials: concrete, wood, and glass, managed to blend with nature.

The owners of this house, Lizzy and Wes Burns, moved to the Melbourne suburbs for their sons Elliott and Angus so that their childhood would be spent in silence, forest, and fresh air. Just like their father's childhood: Wes grew up on the west coast.

We have been striving all our lives to find a place in the countryside that would open new horizons for our family both literally and metaphorically.

After searching for land to build on, the couple saw a secluded plot for sale several years ago and immediately knew it was what they needed. The land sat on a rocky cliff with a view of the wild coastline, and around it were massive oaks clinging to the edge of the cliff.

We now realize how lucky we were to find this land. Truly lucky.

The house with fully glass walls reflects the sky and trees surrounding it, and the view of the bay opens from every room. Full-size glass helps the house blend with the natural landscape, making it almost invisible and floating above the ground.

Currently, the house includes a living room, kitchen, boys' rooms,夫妻 bedroom, guest room, two bathrooms, an office, a beautiful veranda, and even a basement. The house is decorated exclusively with three materials: natural stone, wood, and glass. For example, all walls are clad in panels made from American oak, and the floor is paved with stone.

Interestingly, in the entire house, appliances and storage spaces are hidden behind wooden panels that open with a light press. According to Lizzy and Wes, this makes it easier to maintain the space in order.

This is a wonderful house for living in. Almost every day we walk to the beach, and we call the path to the beach a 200-step walk because that's how long it takes. We don't understand what we did to deserve such happiness.
