In collaboration with African designers and artists, IKEA has developed simple and eco-friendly home products. Among the materials used are glass, plywood, and even chip packaging.

On May 16th, the new OVRALLT collection will be launched in IKEA stores, combining Scandinavian and African aesthetics. In collaboration with ten artists and designers from five African countries, IKEA explored modern African traditions. Here are some of the most interesting items that impressed us.

Chair from Unfinished Plywood

It was created by Issa Diabate, a designer and architect from Côte d'Ivoire. The chair can be assembled or disassembled without nails or glue. Moreover, plywood is an affordable and eco-friendly material that everyone can afford.
