How to Create a Country Atmosphere in an Apartment: Example from Spain
This Spanish apartment was incredibly lucky with its view from the window: it opens up to a natural park. The designers used this advantage to create an atmosphere of a country house in the interior. Even the modest size of the two-bedroom apartment—just 60 sq m—was no obstacle.

First and foremost, the designers eliminated the typical problem of small apartments—feeling cramped in tiny rooms. They merged the living room and kitchen into one open space. As a result, air and spaciousness typical of a country house were added.

The design features typical elements of the countryside style: warm color palette, wooden panels, aged furniture, and exclusively natural materials.
This style is popular in Spain but differs slightly from the typical rural style. A large part of the country's population lives in the countryside, so Spanish countryside design values modernity and closeness to nature, as well as Mediterranean and ethnic motifs in decoration.

The walls in the apartment were painted in a sandy color—this is a typical feature of Spanish interiors. In hot climates, such tones reflect sunlight and do not retain heat. The color palette was supplemented with warm chocolate, cream, and nut tones.

Modular furniture in this project easily combines with furniture made from solid wood, woven decor, and elements of unfinished wood.
The secret lies in making functional elements—such as a TV stand or shelves—light and almost unobtrusive. They don't draw attention to themselves and allow the countryside elements to take center stage in the interior.
