2-room apartment in Sweden: Scandinavian design on a small budget
Large windows in this white apartment open onto a picturesque old courtyard: the entrance is decorated with heavy vintage forged gates. Nearby in the same courtyard is a museum: a special organization preserves its historical appearance, protecting monuments of old age.
In this apartment, they decided to preserve the historical atmosphere and did minimal renovation. The interior turned out not typically modern but with respect for the past. They even preserved and restored two old tile stoves.

The apartment area is only 42 sq. m, but thoughtful zoning made the small space feel spacious and convenient.
The kitchen in the apartment is open but also separated from the living room. Functional elements – storage cabinets, worktops, appliances – stayed in the kitchen. The large dining table was moved to the living room. This made the dining area larger.

All the walls in the apartment are painted white, but to add accents, a fluffy white and black rug was placed on the floor in the room, and natural linoleum in a checkerboard pattern was laid on the kitchen floor.

The old stove turned out not purely white but with barely visible greenish "splashes". Therefore, a lot of greenery was placed in the apartment to support these splashes. The floor is made of natural pine, and the furniture is also natural wood – the apartment literally "breathes" with nature and fully meets Swedish ideas of eco-friendly housing.

The second stove is located in the corner of the bedroom. Unfortunately, it doesn't work anymore, but adds additional beauty to such a lovely bedroom. The final touch is an old cabinet that they decided to restore and not replace with a new one. Radiators in the whole apartment were replaced.

The bathroom is located to the left of the living room. It doesn't have any special design features: everything is neat and white. Square tiles were laid with gray grout – it looks interestingly. The white floor was softened with Moroccan tiles with a bright pattern.

The entrance hall is small but convenient: it has hooks, a shelf, and containers for small items. The most important thing is plenty of light, which makes it look spacious and airy.
