7 Stories When Celebrities Sold Houses to Each Other
Who among you wouldn't want to live in a star's house — an actor, musician, or model?
Stars of show business often buy and sell real estate — with their royalties, this is no problem. At the same time, luxurious mansions often stay within the 'circle' of their own kind, passing from one celebrity to another. Buying a star's house is not an easy task — not only because of the astronomical prices, but also because celebrities don't like to sell property outside the market.
Selena Gomez and French Montana
Selena Gomez purchased her house in Calabasas, California in 2015 to be closer to her boyfriend Justin Bieber. However, she listed the property for sale just six months later — the reason was a break-in by one of Selena's fans. Since then, the singer couldn't feel safe and decided to get rid of her 'unlucky' real estate.
The six-bedroom, seven-bathroom house with a wine cellar, spa, gym, home cinema, large pool, and stone summer kitchen on the surrounding grounds was bought by rapper French Montana for $3.3 million, although originally Selena had planned to sell it for $4.5 million. The rapper improved the luxurious Mediterranean interior by adding a recording studio and changing the wall colors to more neutral tones. Apparently, the house already bored Montan, as the artist recently listed it for sale for $6.6 million.

In 2019, John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston divorced their Spanish-style mansion in Los Angeles after more than 20 years. The new owner of the house was their neighbor and talent manager Scout Braun — among his clients are stars like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Hilary Duff, and Kanye West.
Scout's new residence, located in a prestigious area of the city, covers 9.5 square kilometers. On these grounds, besides a two-story mansion with ten bedrooms and ten bathrooms, an office, and a gym, there is a tennis court, a pool with a waterfall and adjacent spa, several dining patios, and even a treehouse. All this wealth Scout bought for $18 million — a significant difference compared to the $3.7 million they paid for the house in 1997.

In 2017, Robbie Williams decided to part ways with his Beverly Hills mansion. The buyer didn't keep him waiting long — it was the hip-hop artist, beatmaker, and producer DJ Khaled, who bought the luxurious residence for $9.9 million.
The two-story mansion in French Norman style was built in 1992 and fully renovated by Williams. On 1,000 square meters, there are seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, a spa zone, recording studio, gym, professional kitchen, living room with a mirror wall, office, and luxurious hall. The windows offer picturesque views of the mountains, and the surrounding area features a barbecue zone, fireplace, and waterfall pool. It seems this place was created for grand parties, which DJ Khaled loves so much.

Oprah Winfrey decided to expand her real estate holdings in Montecito — one of the most prestigious areas located in Santa Barbara. To achieve this, she purchased her neighbor’s house — actor and star of the movie 'Nothing Good Happens at the El Royale' Jeff Bridges — for $6.85 million.
The Spanish Renaissance-style mansion with an extensive area was built in 1919 by architect James Osborne Craig. The house underwent a major restoration and renovation but retained its original windows, doors, parquet floors, and five fireplaces. Inside, there are three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room, and a modern kitchen with quartz countertops. If the TV star continues to buy neighboring properties, Montecito might soon be renamed 'Opry's Village'.

The hillside house previously owned by actor Alexander Skarsgard had already acquired a whole lineage of celebrity owners. In 2015, it was bought by Rooney Mara for $2.9 million, and two years later, the new owner of the residence became Kelly Osbourne, who paid $3.57 million for the property.
Rooney Mara preferred to transform the 2,500 square meter house into a fashionable bungalow with minimalist furniture and eclectic accessories. As a result, it turned out very cozy: the owners have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sunny kitchen, and a terrace with an amazing view of Los Angeles.

The Malhollands Estates cottage community, located near Beverly Hills, has long been a favorite among celebrities. In 2017, supermodel Kendall Jenner joined them by buying one of Charlie Shin's houses. The new residence cost the star $8.55 million.
Jenner decided to preserve the charming exterior of the Spanish-style mansion built in 1991, but slightly reimagined the interior by adding modernity and minimalism. The house can boast a huge kitchen, a living room with a massive fireplace and columns, a home cinema, and cozy bedrooms perfect for the Kardashians. The lushly green surroundings feature a pool, fountain, tennis court, patio, barbecue zone, and even a playground.

Adam Levine and Ellen DeGeneres
American actress, comedian, and TV host Ellen DeGeneres is a big fan of buying real estate. One of her recent acquisitions was Adam Levine's house.
The magnificent three-story mansion in Tudor style located in Beverly Hills was bought from the frontman of the band Maroon 5 for $45 million. Levine had previously purchased the house for $33.9 million, after which he spent about $7 million on its modernization. The result was five luxurious bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a living room with a marble fireplace and grand TV panel, office, professional kitchen, and spacious dining room in refined English style. The green courtyard includes a dining area with a wood-burning stove, oval pool, and tennis court.
