New Limited Edition IKEA Collection: What's Interesting?
On May 16th, the new OVERRALLT collection will be launched in IKEA stores, combining Scandinavian and African aesthetics. IKEA collaborated with ten artists and designers from five African countries to explore modern African traditions. Here are the most interesting items that impressed us.
Unfinished Plywood Chair
Created by Issa Diabate, a designer and architect from Côte d'Ivoire, this chair can be assembled or disassembled without nails or glue. Plywood is an affordable and eco-friendly material that everyone can afford.

Wool-Free Rugs
Inspired by traditional African motifs, designer Ladhuma Ngxokolo from South Africa created easy-to-maintain rugs with bold geometric patterns.

Shopping Bags
Reform Studio founders Hend Riad and Mariam Hazem used shiny strips of fibrous material to make these bags. The material was made from... production waste — chip packaging.

Tableware
To make dining not only stylish but also cozy at home, designers Béthane Rainer and Naïm Bivdji created tableware with a unique design.

Woven Baskets
Selly Rabie Kane, a fashion designer and artist from Senegal, focused on the style of African women. She created a basket that resembles the pattern of woven braids.
