Bathroom in Panel House: 6 Layout Options
A professional designer has proposed successful ideas for arranging furniture and bathroom fixtures in the bathroom of a single-room apartment series КОПЭ. There are options with and without reconfiguration
Designer Tatyana Krasikova developed six layout options for a bathroom in a panel single-room flat. The initial plan is separate. For convenience, it can be combined, but there is also space for creating interesting solutions without demolishing walls.
Tatyana Krasikova is a designer and graduate of the University of Design and Technology. The design brief: Bathroom, separate, bathroom — 2.97 sq. m, toilet — 1.29 sq. m. House Series: КОПЭ, panel house. ceiling height: 2.64 m
Layout of a separate bathroom in a single-room apartment 38.3 sq. m series КОПЭ. Without reconfiguration. Option 1: with a showerIn the toilet, a round toilet designed specifically for small bathrooms to save space can be installed, along with a deep, full-sized washbasin. This is convenient, and the washbasin does not obstruct the passage. In the bathroom — a 90 cm shower cabin — this will free up space, as well as a full-sized washbasin up to 75 cm, toilet, and a narrow washing machine. Over the washing machine, suspended cabinets can be installed for household items.
Option 2: with a large bathtubEven on 3 sq. m, it is possible to find space for a large bathtub — if it is corner-shaped. In addition to the tub, a full-sized washbasin and a washing machine can also fit. There is an option to place a regular toilet on the side.
Combined bathroom. Option 1: with a utility cabinetIn this case, a toilet with an integrated tank was chosen — this will reduce its depth and save space for approaching the washing machine. On one side, a full-sized bathtub 170 cm long and a washbasin up to 90 cm can fit. There is also an option to create a utility cabinet with closet doors for various items like buckets, mops, and household chemicals. The narrow washing machine can be hidden inside it.
Option 2: with a standard bathtubThe bathtub remains in its place, but next to the toilet, a hygiene shower can be installed — a rare but very useful solution. To the left of the entrance, a long single countertop with an integrated washbasin can be placed, and under it, a washing machine can fit.
Option 3: with storage and laundry areaIf a laundry zone with a dryer (they come in only 60 cm) and storage space for household items are needed, the utility cabinet can be made wider and the appliances placed one on top of the other. In this case, the toilet will have to be moved, and there will only be enough space for a shower cabin.
Option 4: with a large corner bathtubIn this layout, everything fits almost perfectly: a corner bathtub, a single large countertop with an integrated large washbasin, and a narrow washing machine under the countertop. Above the countertop, a large mirror can be placed, and a hanging cabinet can also be installed. A toilet with a corner tank will free up space for installing a cabinet.
