How to Redesign a White Interior: Real Example
Plenty of furniture and textiles, sofa zoning, vintage items and a lot of accessories, each of which you want to look at for a long time without missing any — this apartment in Madrid is decorated with great attention to detail and somewhat resembles the London apartment we wrote about earlier.

The London interior was designed by decorator Ben Pentrit, known for his passion for color and eclectic settings built on traditional English style.
Many elements echo between both apartments, but with one important difference: there are almost no bright accents in this one, and the owner of the Mercedes apartment chose white as the base color for her palette.

Mercedes lives here with her husband and two daughters. The layout includes private zones with bedroom and children's rooms on the second floor, and a kitchen on the terrace with a public area on the first floor. Since the latter occupies a considerable portion of the first floor and essentially serves as the 'face' of the apartment, Mercedes devoted a lot of time and effort to its design.

By using furniture and rugs, the space was divided into a dining area, fireplace zone and reading corner. The dining set was arranged asymmetrically: this facilitates movement throughout the apartment from the hallway to the kitchen, helping to avoid collisions with sharp table corners.

The most important role in decoration was played by the choice of fabrics and textures. Mercedes used natural textiles with expressive textures — linen, cotton, wool.
Many cushions, throws and blankets in white and pastel shades with geometric prints appeared on the sofas and armchairs in a country style. The technique of layering one fabric or texture over another helped the apartment owner to complicate the white setting and make it more cozy. The same effect is achieved by paintings on walls and floors, books, magazines, vases and lights of various forms, sizes and styles.

Vintage items — another winning technique used by Mercedes. The owner of the apartment allocated space for them in the dining zone, assembling a dining group from period-style tables, chairs and a wide bench.

Floral compositions complete the setting, arranged in abundance throughout the home. Incidentally, this technique can also be found in the London interior, and it's no coincidence: living plants are good everywhere they are used.
