What Happens If You Give Up Authorial Supervision
Designer 1–2 times a week visits the site and is fully responsible for the visual part and compliance with the design project. He makes all decisions himself, communicates with the foreman, and chooses color schemes, furniture, textiles, and decor.
But what happens if you give up this service? Designer Anna Modzharo showed several examples from her projects.

Builders Laid Tiles Incorrectly
As my client said: "We see the renovation process, but we don't understand how the interior will look in the end." Builders may say that the design idea cannot be implemented, that tiles are not laid this way.
And in the end, it looks like on the picture — tiles were laid incorrectly, although the crew was given a layout plan. In the end, it had to be knocked down and new ones were bought.
How builders laid the tiles. How it should have been
Left a Wide Gap on the Floor
Few people would like such work: builders left a wide gap between tiles and laminate. They justified it by saying that the laminate cannot be cut precisely, and a threshold is needed, although this could have been avoided by using a cork compensator.
Did Not Make a Gypsum Board Box on the Kitchen
Builders were supposed to install a gypsum board box equal in width to the upper facades of the kitchen cabinets and run a cornice along its side. But they chose an easier way — they mounted the cornice on the wall, and a dust collector gap formed between the cabinets and ceiling, which could have been avoided.

Did Not Paint Part of the Wall in the Bathroom
The photo shows a bright spot that remained after the renovation. Builders were not disturbed by this.

+ 3 Obvious Benefits of Authorial Supervision:
Any defects will be quickly and free of charge corrected. You may not even notice them.
You can save money — designers have many contacts, and they know exactly where and what materials to buy cheaper.
Designers can offer the service for free — it's important to them that a high-quality project is realized and added to their portfolio.
