IKEA-2019: 10 Things from the New Brand Catalog
The American IKEA catalog has launched for the upcoming year. Check out the new items!
We flipped through the new IKEA-2019 catalog, which recently appeared in the USA, and are excited to share some great new items and fresh trends. The Russian version is traditionally expected in September, and we're betting that some of the items available in America but not yet in our stores will also appear in IKEA shops.
GRUNDLID Sofa
New features of the new series of modular sofas include extra seat depth and large, soft cushions. These don't have to be arranged in neat rows along the backrest: a light disorder adds charm to these models.
Overall, relaxed casualness and a touch of creative chaos in interiors are one of the key trends in the new catalog.

BEDSKRÄDDA Bed and Side Table
Last year, IKEA delighted us with a line of leather furniture handles OSTERNÉS. Now they've introduced bedroom furniture where these stylish handles come as standard.
The new items promise to be hits, as despite their minimalist design, they look quite unusual. Especially the bed, whose headboard is essentially a bare frame with two cushions on leather handles. It's interesting how one would sleep on it? We're waiting for the bed to arrive in Russia to find out.

SPRÄNGÖRT Bed Linen
Working on new prints for bed linen, IKEA designers drew inspiration from motifs of archived historical fabrics. Nevertheless, the floral pattern on this percale bed linen looks quite modern.
MELHOLT Rug
This rug is appealing with its retro color scheme and expressive texture. Made of jute and natural wool – exactly what's needed for our climate. It's interesting whether these rugs will be delivered to Russian stores?
LIERSKOGEN Mirror with Coat Rack
In compact spaces, which IKEA has focused on for the past year, it's essential to find room for multi-functional items. For example, a mirror with coat rack and compartments for small items – another bright and truly versatile new item from the American catalog.
KANELLSTOYG Planter with Pedestal
Theoretically, this upside-down rotan planter has no top or bottom. If the flower pot is beautiful and you don't want to hide it, the item can be used as a pedestal. Alternatively, it can serve as a planter by placing the pot inside.
DYUNGELSKOG Kids' Collection
Lamps, rugs, cushions, towels, bed linen, books and much more – the hot new item of the year is IKEA's children's collection, which delighted with a wide variety of items. Kids will surely be thrilled by the toys, while moms and dads will appreciate storage baskets: teaching toddlers to organize through play might just be the most effective way.

NIMONEN Lamp
In the new catalog, it's noticeable that the brand increasingly focuses on deep, complex tones, unusual shapes, and rich textures. Yet it still stays true to its traditional minimalist design.
This year, IKEA has expanded its line of sleek bedside lamps with the NIMONEN lamp. If it arrives in Russia, it will surely become a real treat for all who love to read before sleep. The lamp can be rotated in any direction, allowing the light beam to be directed however you wish.
CITRONSURA Planter
It seems Soviet enamel tableware is experiencing a new rebirth! And this is a perfect reason to get a couple of planters with nostalgic design. The model comes in two size ranges so any pot will fit.
ELDTÖRELL Cushion Cover
Terracotta, pink and dark blue shades, and a double-sided pattern – this cover has all the chances of remaining trendy for years to come and not becoming boring.
