How Designers Decorated a Two-Room Apartment in Trendy Dark Tones
The house where this 50 square meter two-room apartment is located was built in Stockholm in 1884. One of its architectural highlights is the beautiful windows in deep niches, which look great both inside and outside. This apartment has four such windows.

Aside from the rooms, the apartment features a hallway kitchen, a wardrobe in the bedroom hidden behind dense curtains, wooden floors, and a small combined bathroom. The tiny space accommodated a shower enclosure, two wall-mounted cabinets with mirror doors, and even a vanity unit. The latter, however, at some cost to convenience.

To furnish and decorate the apartment, interior designers from Now Interior Design studio were involved. They also developed the color scheme for the finishing.
To the gray—almost totemic for the studio’s style—tone of the bedroom, corridor, and living room walls, they added the trendy black, which was used to paint the kitchen walls. They also duplicated this color in picture frames, lighting fixtures, some furniture items, and the tile design in the bathroom: graphic elements and bold contrasts are one of Now Interior Design’s signature touches.

However, the bedroom’s interior was especially well executed by the decorators. The combination of gray walls with coffee-toned bedding and a gold headboard and fabric that masks the storage system fills the room’s atmosphere with soft light and warmth.
There was no shortage of another signature element of the studio’s style—abundant greenery. In addition to houseplants, the team added botanical elements using cut flowers, paintings with plant motifs, and bouquets made of dried branches. Affordable but beautifully done!
