How to Save Money on Renovation: Painting Walls and Ceiling Yourself
Sometimes to tackle a complex task, it's enough to break it down into simple steps. We've created a clear algorithm for updating the ceiling and walls using painting on your own
Want to easily and quickly refresh your interior? Paint is the most suitable option for updating walls and ceiling: it applies easily and is simple to maintain. Moreover, this type of finishing is considered the most budget-friendly: if you do the decoration yourself, you can limit yourself to material costs only.
Step 1: Prepare the Surface
The surface to be painted must be dry and free of dirt and dust. New walls should be primed, and old ones should have any peeling paint removed. Don't forget to mix the paint using a mixer and an electric drill before use.

Step 2: Painting the Ceiling
Paint the ceiling in stripes: each subsequent stripe should slightly overlap the previous one. It's important to move from the window toward the center of the room.

Step 3: Painting the Walls
Remember: walls should be painted starting from a corner, beginning at the window and ending near the door. Alternate between vertical, horizontal, and diagonal strokes. For corner painting, use a round roller; for walls, use a wide brush or roller.

Step 4: Painting Walls in Hard-to-Reach Areas
Before painting, remove the switch and socket covers. If that's not possible, cover the area around the outlets with a small brush and plastic tape. For behind radiators, a small roller with a long handle comes in handy.

For window frames, use a flat brush or roller and don't forget about painter's tape. A roller with a metal plate is essential for painting joints.
