1. In the Bathroom The location and number of power outlets in the bathroom depend on the presence of electric appliances to be connected. Standardly, bathrooms provide outlets for household appliances: washing machine, hair dryer, charging device for a razor and electric toothbrush. A shower cabin or bathtub with hydro-massage will also require a separate outlet – just like the water heater.
In the bathroom, it is important to position outlets with regard to safety. The height from the floor should be no less than 60 cm. The distance from the nearest water source should also be no less than 60 cm. The main light switch is usually placed in the hallway for convenience of use.

In the bathroom, waterproof outlets are used. They are equipped with tight rubber rings inside – this reduces the risk of dangerous sparks and short circuits. The outer casing is covered with special tight plastic shutters. Moisture does not penetrate inside and does not settle on contact terminals and other metal parts.

2. In the Hallway
The main thing that should be at the entrance to the room is the general lighting switch. It is usually installed at a height of 75 to 90 cm from the floor. However, take into account the average height of all family members; everyone should be able to easily press the switch with their arm lowered.
In the hallway, there is no need to place a large number of outlets. They will be needed for vacuum cleaner and shoe dryer: optimal height is 30 cm from the floor. Sometimes in the hallway, a warm floor sensor is also installed: do not place it too low, otherwise adjusting the temperature will be inconvenient.

3. On the Balcony
More and more often, homeowners create a functional area for rest or work on the balcony instead of just using it for storage. Of course, in this case, outlets are indispensable. What can they be used for? To connect an iron, air humidifier, heater, vacuum cleaner, electric tools – at least one outlet will definitely be used.
Lighting on the balcony is also necessary, so mark the switch at a convenient height. It is also possible to install a thermostat for regulating the temperature of the warm floor. Optimal height is 75–90 cm.
