VR Cabin by CRB Arquitectos
Designed by architects CRB Arquitectos, the VR Cabin is a beautiful modern retreat nestled in the dense Mexican forest of Valle de Bravo. This compact single-story cabin, under 1000 square feet, opens up to a stunning view of nature.
The VR Cabin project was developed to find the ideal interaction between user and environment, creating a space that directly interacts with its natural surroundings. This space is designed to provide a warm and cozy environment, allowing users to escape the noise of the city. The cabin emerged as a resort sanctuary offering privacy to its user.
Space materials provide warmth in the humid and forested environment. The use of wood inside creates a relaxing and entertaining atmosphere, as well as thermal comfort throughout the space. In contrast to the interior design, the exterior is simple and since it's one block, it does not diminish the importance of the natural environment surrounding it.

The cabin features an open terrace with a spot for observing the natural environment. Inside, everything happens in one space, including a relaxation area near the fireplace, bedroom and office. Additionally, a sleeping area is created in the upper part of the private zone, accessible via a maritime staircase. This space has wooden gabled roofs mimicking Nordic cabins.
The private zone includes a wardrobe and bathroom, which connect to both ends with external walls. On one side is a contemplation area among vegetation, and on the other is an outdoor shower surrounded by leaves.
The VR Cabin is a project that stands out for its connection to the forest environment surrounding it, relying on its materials to create a comfortable and cozy space that allows users to disconnect from modern life's chaos. Simple and cozy architecture enables the perfect coexistence between cabin and forest.
