Small Palace by Fala Atelier in Porto, Portugal

The Small Palace is located in a narrow garden. The abundance of the surrounding environment implies a contradictory approach to the architectural object. At the human level, the palace is transparent, but its crown is proud, adorned with precious stones and encompasses the perimeter walls.

The interior is fully simple yet rich, partially recessed to emphasize the presence of surrounding greenery. Thus, in the style of Lusso, two representative areas are defined by different levels with varying degrees of intimacy. The only walls are the longitudinal sides of the space, in continuity with the garden perimeter. The bathroom and storage are hidden behind one integrated cabinet made of lacquered wood, whose size is deliberately positioned somewhere between architecture and furniture. The palace should not be too simple.
