Known for its innovative projects in architecture, interior design and television studios, BAB Architects from Istanbul has opened the Sports Digitale YouTube Studio, a compact and multifunctional space inspired by the spirit of sports.

Under the leadership of architect İrem Aribash, interior architect Hüseyin Besh and interior architect Yurdakul Besh, the firm has successfully realized projects both in Turkey and abroad. For Sports Digitale, the team developed a 70 square meter YouTube studio, offering several scene options for producing diverse content covering a wide range of sports.

Despite its compact size, the design maximizes space efficiency and creates a dynamically energetic and friendly atmosphere that reflects the emotions of sports while maintaining professional television production standards.

Maximizing Space with Flexible Design

The studio interior is strategically designed to accommodate multiple zones in a limited space. BAB Architects achieved this through demountable wall panels, ceiling elements and multifunctional partitions.

• Reflective ceiling and floor: Glossy finishes and mirror elements on the ceiling enhance the sense of height and evenly distribute background colors on stage.

• Adaptable wall panels: Walls can switch between brick and polycarbonate surfaces, supported by modern lighting systems for smooth theme transitions.

• Mesh panels: They serve as dynamic design elements and flexible shelving.

Careful spatial utilization ensures that the studio remains functional and visually appealing, allowing quick scene changes for various sports projects.

Creating Atmosphere: Materials and Lighting

BAB Architects used a palette of materials combining contrast and texture to add warmth to the industrial setting. Real carpets provide comfort in interview areas, creating intimacy contrasted with smooth studio finishes.

Lighting strategy plays a key role, with integrated systems allowing rapid setup of different emotional states for broadcasts. This flexibility supports diverse visual identities across multiple sports programs.

Functional Integration of Control Zones

The transition between the main studio and control and broadcasting zones is designed smoothly and efficiently. Mobile design elements such as wheeled decorative panels with curtains work as camera backgrounds and practical partitions, enabling direct access without losing usable space.

This approach maintains studio flexibility, ensuring seamless collaboration between technical teams and camera operators.
