Sakura House by Estudio PKa
The Sakura House is a stunning modern home located in Belen de Escobar, Argentina. It is surrounded by the Delta of Argentina on a lot with views of the lagoon. The contemporary design of this house is aimed at maximizing access to beautiful panoramas while maintaining a reasonable level of privacy. The house was designed by Estudio PKa, known for their work that you may have seen in our showcase of their Casa C project in Costa Esmeraldas.

Surrounded by the Delta of Argentina and located on a trapezoidal lot with views of the lagoon, its northern orientation toward one side inspired the inclusion of a bright terrace space with abundant vegetation that also serves as an entrance. This place functions as a connector; the transition between street and access to the house, it is the heart of the home and all movements are directed toward this space.
The western facade side has sliding gates that become invisible when opened, creating a scenic effect for pedestrian access along a path that changes its form. The idea is to walk through various sensations: first, we can see the music room where the family uses different instruments, which also leads to a multi-functional space providing flexibility in room usage. Then we pass through and find the central terraced courtyard with abundant vegetation and an entrance door highlighted by wooden cladding, making it almost invisible.

If you continue moving forward, you can walk under a floating volume — this is the client's office which also has a balcony to the second floor of the living room. This semi-open element frames the landscape and leads us to the pool where water reflects in the lagoon. From there, one can enter the gallery directly without passing through the house.
On the southern side are all service and supporting rooms. The material of the house is exposed concrete with boards combined with phenolic resin; it features double walls, aluminum RPT DVH openings and travertine floors.
The staircase is one of the main elements, located in the entrance hall and contrasting with the exposed concrete that retains its natural imprint, appearing light and warm. It is a staircase with independent steps in flight, and thanks to the embedding system they create a feeling of lightness.
