Villa Mueller, Andrea Pelati Architect Project

Andrea Pelati Architecte designed Villa Mueller in the Swiss wine-growing region of Cortaillod. This beautiful modern villa offers just under 3,000 square feet of living space surrounded by endless landscapes. For more information about this studio's work, we recommend checking out the Villa SAH project in Nuschwil.

Between the village and the vineyard plots of Cortaillod, this new house seems to have grown from the garden of a majestic mansion built in the 1940s.

Designed to blend into the landscape, the building is almost invisible from the street. Only the entrance stands out thanks to a staircase cut into the roof, which piques visitors' curiosity.

Inside, a spacious entrance hall welcomes you into a smooth transition into the home. A discreet side passage leads to the bedrooms, while a scenic staircase takes you to the living area. From here, panoramic views gradually unfold from the rooftops and vineyard plots of Cortaillod village to a stunning view of the Alps.

Next, the path winds around a dramatic fireplace and several staircases lead to a more intimate semi-basement playroom and study, where the closest view of the vineyard plots opens up. A walk around the garden reveals how the design follows the contours of the land, showcasing a very mineral roof that appears to float above a clean glass framework.
