Modern Life in Moscow by Ariana Ahmad: The Fusion of Art and Functionality
Created by acclaimed architect Ariana Ahmad, this stunning Moscow apartment redefines the concept of modern life in Moscow, where architectural precision blends with artistic soul. Photos by Mikhail Loskutov, styling by Natalia Onufriichuk. The home reflects a calm elegance with a personal touch.
A Complete Renovator for Urban Comfort
Commissioned by a young couple with a strong sense of style, the 90 sq. m apartment underwent a full transformation. Ariana Ahmad reimagined the entire layout—from the entrance zone and kitchen to the bedroom, guest bathroom, and study—to ensure every square meter serves a purpose. The living room was expanded by combining it with the balcony, allowing more light to flow in and creating a seamless, spacious area.
Palette of Harmony and Depth
Inspired by the client's preference for contrast and cool tones, the interior is executed in a calm gray-blue color scheme. The kitchen stands out with dark gray facades from Valcucine, matte glass surfaces, and neat hardware. Integrated niches allow for easy placement of large appliances—from the wide refrigerator in the kitchen to the washing machine and dryer hidden behind curtains in the guest bathroom.
Materials Inspired by Nature and Relaxation Zones
Inspired by the owner's yoga practice and love for nature, Ahmad filled the space with warm, tactile materials. Wooden-framed windows and low sills create cozy spots for relaxation with panoramic city views. These thoughtful details instill a sense of calm and rootedness in the apartment.
Light as an Architectural Element
Lighting was designed for each functional and emotional scenario. Soft lighting in the bathroom highlights the textures of ceramic tiles and luxurious Salvatori marble. Each fixture was chosen to complement the space and subtly enhance the color palette.
Furniture Reflecting Personality
Every piece in the apartment tells a story. In the bedroom, Dudet chair by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina sits beside a minimalist bathroom from Living Divani, enhanced with eco-friendly Phillip Jeffries abaca wallpapers. The centerpiece of the living room is a vibrant multi-panel work from Asya Feoktistova's 'Happy Tablets' series, bringing energy and color to the refined space.
The True Reflection of Modern Life in Moscow
This apartment is more than just a home. It's a thoughtfully curated lifestyle. With her unique blend of precision and personal narrative, Ariana Ahmad has crafted an elegant sanctuary at the heart of Moscow. The design masterfully combines functionality with artistic character, showcasing the best of modern life in Moscow.
