Meliá Phuket Mai Khao Celebrates Opening

PHUKET, Thailand (January 18, 2022) – The Meliá Phuket Mai Khao hotel, focused on health and wellness, located on the longest beach strip of Phuket with a relaxed beach club and private villas with swimming pools, has opened its doors on the largest island in Thailand.

The hotel is the second five-star property launched by Meliá Hotels International in Thailand, part of the brand's major expansion in key markets.

Located on the secluded Mai Khao beach, with views of eight acres of northwest Phuket's coastline facing the Andaman Ocean, Meliá Phuket Mai Khao opened its doors on December 1.

The hotel with 30 rooms and 70 villas, owned by Phuket Villa Group – a real estate developer – is 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport and close to many attractions, including Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation, Sirinat National Park, and Wat Phra Thong Temple.

The hotel's design combines traditional and modern Thai aesthetics with Mediterranean elements, using a neutral color palette to complement the sandy shores of Mai Khao. High ceilings and decorative metal screens maximize natural conditions and tropical climate.

GUEST ROOMS AND VILLAS

Modern, bright, and spacious rooms at the Meliá Phuket Mai Khao hotel – with a focus on clean lines and internal-external living – include 30 single rooms and 70 one-bedroom villas.

The hotel offers three accommodation categories. Each has one bedroom and differs by main amenity – either an open bath, private swimming pool, or a wellness-oriented layout.

All rooms and villas feature open bathrooms, outdoor washbasins, and terraces to enjoy Phuket's tropical climate, which averages 28°C year-round. Elegant gardens and interior elements such as white stucco walls provide secluded areas and maximum privacy.

Rooms measuring 78 square meters include balconies, while one-bedroom villas of 85 square meters have private swimming pools.

At the top tier are 15 wellness villas, each equipped with an open shower with vitamin C, a sonic diffuser for essential oils, a GermGuardian air purifier, Tempur-Pedic pillows, outdoor bath salts, a fitness ball, and a yoga mat. The main benefit of staying in such a villa is a daily 60-minute massage session.

All rooms feature individual air conditioning, a 43-inch LCD TV with satellite channels, Bluetooth speaker, Nespresso coffee machine, and culinary capsules.

Healthy snacks can be ordered in the mini-bar, such as energy bars. Dishes and boxes with banana leaf napkins are among sustainable items found in rooms and villas.
