Meliá Hotels International, a global leader in premium resort hotels, is preparing to bring Spanish luxury to Indonesia with the opening of Gran Meliá Lombok in 2024. Already one of the most popular properties in the group, this new establishment will be the first Gran Meliá hotel on the paradise island of Lombok and the second in Indonesia.

Gran Meliá Lombok will be located on the beautiful Torok Bay in the southern part of the island, surrounded by green hills and a beach with crystal-clear water. The perfect place to disconnect and enjoy a relaxed lifestyle.

The hotel will feature 22 luxurious beach villas and an additional 105 villas on the mountain slope, all with private infinity pools and spectacular ocean views. Attention will be paid to architectural design, the use of natural elements representing the essence of the place. The hotel will harmoniously blend with its natural environment, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in paradise.

Abundant large windows will provide plenty of light and help the property blend with its surroundings, while elegant furniture and warm tones convey a sense of pure luxury.

Lombok is an island east of Bali with pristine natural surroundings that has become increasingly popular as a tourist destination over the past decade. Its vast rice terraces, rocky landscapes, and famous Mount Rinjani make up part of the island's natural attractions, surrounded by endless beaches and turquoise waters ideal for surfing.

The entire hotel was designed as a true sanctuary of wellness. From the beachside spa YHI with relaxing rituals and treatments to a well-equipped fitness center, Gran Meliá Lombok provides everything guests need for maintaining a self-care routine. The hotel will also offer a kids' club for children's entertainment and an extensive program of family-oriented activities.

Aligned with the Gran Meliá brand, the hotel will feature world-class restaurants combining local ingredients and cooking techniques to create an authentic Indonesian gastronomic experience. The spacious lounge with panoramic ocean views will be the perfect place for couples planning an exotic wedding on location.

Gran Meliá Lombok will be the second Gran Meliá hotel in Indonesia after Gran Meliá Jakarta, an urban oasis located in the central business district of Kuningan, Jakarta. The hotel features iconic architecture inspired by Spanish heritage with modern renovations, offering top gastronomic offerings such as the award-winning dish by chef Tomoaki at the Japanese restaurant Yoshi Izakaya.

Gran Meliá is a luxury hotel brand owned by Meliá Hotels International and represents an exceptional collection of premium hotels in the world's most desired destinations, defined by their unique architecture, refined elegance, friendly and attentive service, signature cuisine, and exceptional experiences to help guests discover and enjoy their time.

"Our commitment to Indonesia, where we opened our first international hotel more than 35 years ago, has never been stronger and we are very pleased to conclude this new landmark deal, which will become a resort in itself on Lombok and further boost the prosperity of the entire community," said Gabriel Escarrer, Vice President and General Manager of Meliá Hotels International.

Gran Meliá Lombok is owned by Invest Islands, a award-winning real estate development company based on Lombok, and will be the 12th Meliá Hotels International hotel in Indonesia, eight of which are already operational and four more (including Gran Meliá Lombok) are scheduled to open. Before the pandemic, the country welcomed over 16 million international tourists in 2019, and Lombok Airport was the ninth busiest for incoming tourists.

Although Invest Islands is fundamentally a real estate company, it shares Meliá Hotels International's commitment to sustainable development. Headquartered on Lombok with offices in Bali and Hong Kong, the company explores ecological solutions: whether through using local materials and artisans or its organic farm or plastic recycling center. The Invest Islands Foundation works tirelessly to improve education and healthcare, protect the environment, and support local women.

"Gran Meliá Lombok is a huge step for Invest Islands," said Jack Brown, who co-founded the company in 2015 with business partner Kevin Deisser. "We are proud to work with a world leader in the hospitality industry and one of our key parallels with the Meliá brand is its focus on low-carbon development. Gran Meliá Lombok has a very low building density and lots of natural green spaces.

"We hope this marks the beginning of a great partnership that will continue for many years to come, and we look forward to bringing Spanish luxury to Lombok while preserving its natural environment. We also want to thank our international investors who trusted us to add value to the land we are developing."
