Interior of a Living Room in a Small Apartment
Square meters of the living room. The living room can be enlarged by combining it with the kitchen. Not everyone would dare to change their familiar layout for such an option. Despite the fact that removing partitions has long been in fashion, it is still unusual and non-standard for many. However, this is a real solution to the problem of small space.

Despite the fact that removing partitions has long been in fashion, it is still unusual and non-standard for many. However, this is a real solution to the problem of small space. The best approach, due to the specific use of the kitchen area, is to combine the kitchen with the living room for those who rarely cook at home.
In a small apartment, it is possible to expand the living room by using the balcony or loggia if they exist and are adjacent to the living room area. This option does not have the drawbacks associated with a kitchen-living room combination and, particularly in the case of connecting a loggia, can add precious square meters and improve the lighting in the hall.

Decorating a Mini Living Room
Designing the interior of a living room in a Khrushchyovka flat cannot be done without some tricks. No matter how the situation with combining rooms has unfolded (which is actually a quite radical solution), a living room in a small apartment can be visually expanded. This is made possible by various colors, patterns, and finishing materials.
Color
The lighter the color, the more spacious it appears. Cool tones visually recede. The most "spacious" color is white. One of the styles that actively use this color is Scandinavian design. The color "recipe" for a small living room is pastel colors.

Pattern
To expand the space, one can use wallpapers with a fine pattern. Large patterns on all walls would otherwise narrow the space, but using such a pattern only on one wall can visually expand the living room.

Mirrors
Their use can infinitely expand the living room – erasing the boundaries of the room. The charm of mirrors is that they fit perfectly into any setting, whether it's a modern interior with a mirror wardrobe or the recreation of a historical or ethnic style with a fireplace and a mirror hanging above it. A large floor mirror or a wall clad in mirrors – these are two more options for "mirroring" the living room.

Furniture
On a small area of the living room, it's not advisable to place a large amount of furniture for a tiny room. Undoubtedly, furniture for a living room-bedroom, a passage living room, or just a small hall should not be bulky. There should only be a little furniture and it must be functional. Everything that folds or transforms is suitable.
Depending on the functional use of the living room and how much space is limited, you can choose individual furniture pieces. Neither soft furnishings nor wardrobes should overcrowd the space.
A corner sofa or a sofa bed made from poufs is a good alternative to a set of sofa and armchair. A narrow but tall wardrobe-closet or a shelf reaching the ceiling is appropriate for a small living room. Tables, dressers, and side tables are all unnecessary in such a small room. Only one small table is acceptable, preferably also transformable. It's better to mount or integrate technology into niches or wardrobes to save space.
The main task of designing a small living room is to aesthetically and functionally arrange the essential items within it, without turning the hall into a warehouse.

Decoration
One cannot ignore decoration – how could it be otherwise. It's also not advisable to overload the living room with decoration, but in small quantities and even in bright colors, it is necessary to liven up the interior. An abundance of textiles or heavy textiles – for example, thick and heavy curtains on windows – can nullify all efforts to expand the living room and lighten the interior. The best solution for a small hall is thin transparent curtains, Roman blinds, or venetian blinds.
