House IF by RUANGRONA
RUANGRONA designed an impressive modern residence on a highland site in Bandung, Indonesia. House IF offers around 4,500 square feet of luxurious modern living space integrated with a picturesque landscape design and a centrally located pool. The interior uses an open plan, but its privacy is protected by a concrete perimeter.

Located on a highland site in Bandung, RUANGRONA designed this project based on a semi-villa concept with the feeling of hope that users of this building enjoy a pleasant experience every day as if they are on vacation. RUANGRONA presented a simple design combining modern and tropical architectural solutions that can become an oasis and cozy place to return home after all daily activities.
The seamless concept of interior and exterior space is designed to create a healthy living environment, maximize air circulation, and minimize the use of artificial lighting and air conditioning, which also provides comfort. RUANGRONA uses the defined contours of the plot to create a unique spatial experience. These differences in contours create a special spatial perception in the pool and terrace area. This house is located in a residential zone, but traffic is very heavy, so the building facade was designed as a solid inner box, not only to enhance the privacy of home owners but also to make it attractive enough.

RUANGRONA uses many wooden materials to create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere in the villa. Since the house is located at quite cool elevations, wooden materials also create a warm impression for users. Exposed concrete, white walls and earth-toned materials dominate both inside and outside the house. The zoning of this building is divided into three parts: public, semi-private and private zones. At the front of the house is a yoga studio that can be used for various needs of the owner. Therefore, we placed the public area at the front with a layout that is sufficiently closed off to separate it from the living room zone and access to the second floor, which is more private.
A young family with a busy life in a big city needs housing that reflects their personality but can also be a place for comfortable and quiet rest to enjoy time with loved ones. Therefore, all zones of this house can be connected together, with internal and external zones also integrated to give a feeling of family warmth in the house that feels like a vacation every day.
