Decor from Disks

But still, practically in every apartment they remain. And usually, nobody uses them, and it's a pity to throw them away. If you have such disks, we suggest making decorative decorations for your apartment from them.

For this, we will need:

• disks;
• printed cloths or pictures for decoupage;
• white acrylic paint;
• glue;
• acrylic varnish;
• cardboard;
• colored acrylic paints;
• sandpaper;
• scissors;
• thin cord or ribbon.

Creating Decorative Items from Disks

First, we sand the disk on both sides with sandpaper, then prime it with white acrylic paint in one layer.

Cut out a circle from cardboard to hide the hole in the disk. Glue it on the back side and paint it with white paint right away.

On the front side, glue a smaller circle with a reduced diameter. Then coat it again with white acrylic paint.

Now let our preparations dry (this will take about three hours), and sand them again with sandpaper.

Now we proceed to decorate the disk preparation.

If you have a printed cloth, carefully remove the bottom two layers. If it's a picture for decoupage, no need to separate anything.

From the entire design, select the part you want to transfer onto the disk.

Glue the image onto the disk using glue. Do it very carefully, thoroughly smoothing out any air bubbles or unevennesses. At the same time, make sure not to tear the thin cloth. After that, let the image dry for about an hour. Then remove excess from the edges.

With various colored acrylic paints, do some additional coloring. Highlight certain details, add colors, and give more brightness and contrast.

Coat the disk with varnish and let it dry for several hours.

To finish the edges, use white cord or ribbon. Glue it along the edge using transparent glue.

If you glue a magnet to the back of the disk, you get a fridge magnet. If you attach a loop made from cord, it becomes an original decoration.
