House 1510 by Nordest Arquitectura

House 1510 is an impressive modern residence located on a hill in Jirona, Spain. Designed by Nordest Arquitectura, it offers stunning views from its elevated vantage point. The house is integrated into the surrounding landscape and provides just under 5,000 square feet of contemporary minimalist living spaces.

The house is perceived as a floating volume on the mountain. This space for contemplation is open to both panoramic views and the garden. The building is integrated into the landscape, minimizing its presence with a simple concrete form. Other elements are realized using natural stone from the site, making them appear as if they emerge from the earth.

The interaction between different volumes creates a cozy garden sheltered from regional winds. From this garden, one can enjoy the surroundings through a sequence of spaces that connect the exterior and interior, uniting them into one whole. The entrance to the house is via a staircase carved into the rock. Then follows a bedroom level that corresponds to the base of the floating volume of the building.

From an internal staircase, one can access the main level. This level is divided into two parts: one part with a room open to an inner courtyard, and the other with the main living area of the house — a large lounge that provides horizontal transparency and connects views to both sea and garden.
