Text — such a project is called a loft with an area of 82 square meters in Tokyo, Japan, designed by JP architects studio.
During the apartment reconstruction, architects decided to abandon surface leveling, striving to preserve free space as much as possible, which would inevitably be lost when trying to smooth out irregularities. The concrete walls and ceiling exposed down to the base combine with natural wood flooring. Two functional zones are highlighted by a subtle color transition, creating a metaphysical boundary between the bedroom and the open-plan living room.
The roughness of unfinished concrete is enlivened by greenery of indoor plants, the warm texture of wood, and unexpected interior elements — such as a bright red detail of some mechanism hanging from the ceiling.
