Art Collector's Mansion in Mexico
The architectural firm CDM Casas de México presented the LJ30 House in the city of Sapopan, Mexico. This luxurious residence, spanning 1,788 square meters, belongs to collectors of antique items, making the pieces they treasure an integral part of the space alongside modern furniture. The design avoids the feeling of living in an art gallery, while still honoring the importance of these valuable items. Additionally, the clients emphasized the need for energy balance in the project, which architects achieved through careful attention to scale, materials, and site conditions.
The main entrance with a fountain in Andalusian style connects to an inner courtyard, where the magnolia tree guides visitors toward a metal staircase or into the living room featuring a wooden cube. The fire pit completes the elemental cycle: water, earth, metal, wood, and fire.
Connection with the external environment is crucial, allowing residents to enjoy impressive views around the house and a beautiful inner courtyard. This relationship combined with the significant height, large windows, and symmetry gives the house a dynamic quality, while the antique and contemporary design elements create a refined atmosphere that generates a kaleidoscope of impressions.
