Interesting Geometry of a Private House in Brazil
Interesting Geometry of a Private House in Brazil
The studio Bloco Arquitetos implemented the project of a private house Morrone, located in a residential area near Planalto Piloto in Brasilia, Brazil. At the front of the plot stands a pequi tree that had to be preserved, and large neighboring houses stand on both sides, from which the architects wanted to create a sense of privacy. The architects decided to alternate open and closed spaces, increasing the amount of natural light entering a residence with a total area of 457 square meters. Several functional blocks are connected to each other through five internal courtyards. One of them adjoins the guest room on the first floor; another is designed in the center of the building as an additional light source and visually connects the living room on the first floor with the corridor above; the third internal courtyard without a roof continues one of the bathrooms; the fourth houses the main entrance to the house; and the fifth space contains a swimming pool.
