Three Pavilions with Lake View in Canada
Project bureau YH2 Architectes presented the Triptych residence in Ventworth-Nord, Canada. A private house with three pavilions was built on a slope with a view of a small lake in the Laurentian Mountains, at about 100 kilometers from Montreal. The form of the house was determined by the irregularity of the plot and the presence of trees.
The three pavilions are connected by two glazed passages, which create a formal division between the elements of the project. The entrance door is seamlessly integrated into the passage leading to the guest room. The foyer area is clad with the same material used on the facades, blurring the boundaries between interiors and exteriors. The second passage leading to the living room serves as a dining area.
The Triptych project mainly uses natural materials. The facades are clad with cedar boards, specially treated to imitate noble aging. Internal walls and ceilings are made of gypsum board or white cedar, while the floors are made of white oak or polished concrete.
