Concrete House in Peru
Concrete House in Peru
Riofrio Arquitectos project bureau presented the private Bogavante House, located near the natural reserve of Paracas with a view of the bay in Peru. The climatic features of the region dictated the need for a solid structure as protection from strong winds in the afternoon. This allowed creating a protected and secluded garden in the project.
On the first floor of the house, the main functional zones were designed, maximally enclosed around the perimeter, except for the inner courtyard area. Here are located the living room, kitchen, dining room, three bedrooms with bathrooms, staff room and relaxation room. In the central part above the living room rises a cubic volume with the main bedroom.
To make the house correspond to the background desert landscape, it was decided to use natural colors and unprocessed textures that best reflect the brutal character of the materials used. Raw concrete and polished cement dominate both inside and outside, while reclaimed wood serves as the main accent in the entrance area and under the window of the main bedroom.
