Villa near Le Rele Ski Resort, Canada
The Vingt Villa, designed by Bourgeois / Lechasseur architects, is located on a sloped site next to the Canadian ski resort Le Rele. From the top, there are spectacular views of the Laurentian Uplands and the residential areas of Lac-Bourgeois. Owners are very familiar with the characteristics of these places, as they have lived there for many years. The designers were inspired by the surrounding landscape and its complex topography.
The first level of construction serves as its foundation; it rests on the ground and faces north entirely. This creates an impression that the upper level floats above the concrete base of the first floor.
The geometric lines of the building and the placement of windows create a remarkable atmosphere that changes depending on the interior functions. The skylight in the dining room offers an elegant view of tree tops and allows glimmers of diffused light to play across the cedar planks. The central concrete wall gives the project verticality. This house creates a strong sense of presence within the panoramic landscape.
