This 100 square meter wooden house, located in the suburbs of Budapest, Hungary, was designed by Architecture Uncomfortable Workshop for a young female graphic designer.
The roof shape, supported by two longer walls, resembles traditional Austrian wooden buildings, although the structure is much smaller in scale.
One of the key aspects of the project concept is the division of the house into three distinct parts. This creates a sense of calm as you move through the home upwards. The first floor includes the living room, kitchen and bathroom; the second floor features a bedroom and office. The highest space, the "tower", is dedicated to contemplation.
The materials used in both interior and exterior finishes will age gracefully, maintaining their natural appearance over time. The homeowner will only need to oil the walls occasionally as the wood dries and develops a silver tone.
