House in the Forest in Quebec Province
La Louve — a private house in the small town of Saint-Adele in the province of Quebec, Canada, designed by Atelier Pierre Thibault studio.
Living spaces are arranged in a row; common areas are located in the part of the house that rises above the landscape, providing the most favorable views for the family room where the whole family gathers.
The other part of the house contains three children's bedrooms that share one bathroom. The corridor leading to them expands in certain places, creating small cozy corners for play or reading.
The main bedroom occupies the far end of the building and is separated from the children's rooms by a home office. This workspace opens onto a small garden embedded into the main volume.
The long-plan house acts as an extension of a walking path. You walk along it like through a forest, passing through spaces that expand and contract, living areas alternating with small interior courtyards and views of the landscape.
