House in the Indian State of Madhya Pradesh
The APEX project, implemented by Design Buro Architects studio in the city of Ratlam, India, is a private house with an area of 746 square meters designed for one family to live in.
The composition of the wide-spread single-story building is organized around a living room with an open-plan layout, connected to the dining room and opening up to the pool. On the opposite side, the living room is bounded by a corridor connecting the wing with bedrooms located at one end of the house and a guest room at the other.
The building was designed based on principles of passive climate control. A special ventilation system allows maintaining a comfortable atmosphere inside the house throughout the day.
Two types of windows were used in the residence. First, these are large sliding windows made from high-strength glass that make the outside landscape part of the interior, and secondly, shutters with anti-mosquito nets allowing residents to control the flow of fresh air by adjusting the shutters. At the same time, they also ensure home security.
